International tourists visiting Korea for PyeongChang 2018 can now request to stay for another month!
Under the current short-term visitor permit or visa-waver policy, tourists are allowed to stay a maximum of 90 days in Korea under normal conditions. However, those who meet requirements can now request for a 30-day extension, increasing the maximum length of stay up to 120 days.

Tourists who seek to extend their stay must visit a Korea Immigration Service office and submit an Extension of Stay Application Form along with other required documents, including the Olympic tickets.
In addition, foreigners staying in Korea and currently participating in the Korea Immigration and Integration Program (KIIP) can redeem up to 8 class hours if they watch an Olympic event. To redeem class hours, application and other required documents, including the Olympic ticket, must be submitted to a KIIP office designated by the Ministry of Justice.
