Chuseok, one of Korea’s major holidays, is quickly approaching! This year, Chuseok falls on October 4 (August 15 on lunar calendar), with the day before and after as part of the holiday. This year’s holiday period will be an extra long one compared to the previous years, including the weekend starting from September 30 until October 9 that falls on Hangeul Day, a national holiday, summing up to a total of 10 days. In order to enjoy a convenient vacation, it’s best to check the holiday operating schedule in advance.
While most restaurants will be closed on the day of Chuseok (October 4), restaurants inside hotels and chain restaurants in the area of Seoul will mostly all operate throughout the holiday period.
